The list of books I'd recommend is a long one. Some have been my favorites for years. Some are new, and I'm sure I'll read them again.

A Separate Peace by John Knowles. It's a story of the friendship between two boys and explores what friendship really means. The book is an old one, and I've read it many times. It's number one on my list.

The Lottery Rose by Irene Hunt. A great book about a young boy who is abused, and the woman who helps him find his spirit.

The Drifters by James Michner. A broad, sweeping novel about friends who travel across Europe during the Viet Nam War. A great social commentary about one of the most difficult times in our countries history.

The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. One of the best horror novels ever written. The movie was as good, maybe even better than the book.

The Hobbit by JRR Tolkein. The book that started it all. Humble Bilbo Baggins begins the adventure of a lifetime. A great read.
